The APPLICANT PORTAL for checking Waiting List positions is being reviewed for accuracy. Due to the large volume of applications received, the opening of this portal is delayed until April 1, 2010.
When the Portal opens, applicants may learn their position number. Please be advised that waiting lists are created to establish a pool of applicants to select from when housing assistance vouchers become available. Depending upon your position number on the list, the waiting period for selection could be a number of years.
Selection from the list does not guarantee that a voucher will be issued. Applicants must meet all the Eligibility requirements to participate in the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
No waiting list information is available in person or by telephone.

Introduction
The City of Marietta Department of Development Services administers the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Choice Voucher Program, commonly referred to as Section 8.
The Housing Choice Voucher program assists extremely-low and very-low income families to lease decent, safe and affordable housing within its jurisdiction, which covers all Cobb County cities and Unincorporated Cobb County, Georgia.
